About the Company:
A large Australian National Security Agency is seeking a cyber security engineer to help bolster the cyber posture for Australia. This agency is well known and is paramount to the defence of our nation. They offer services externally for government and private sector focused on aligning to ISM/PSPF/SOCI and other rquiremtns per sector. 

Contract Term:
12 months + 12 month extension

Rates:
$125-150/hr (negoitiable based on experience)

Job Description:
This agency is currently seeking a talented and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join their team in Canberra. This role involves working on an exciting project focused on Active Directory Security implementation for customers. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect client’s critical infrastructure as well as other tasks such as vunerability management, patching, whitelisting etc. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to define and implement Active Directory Security measures.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines related to Active Directory Security.
  • Monitor and analyze security events, identifying and responding to potential security incidents.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to security standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams regarding Active Directory Security.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Cyber Security Engineer, preferably in a government or highly regulated environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory Security and associated best practices. (MICROSOFT focused)
  • Experience in implementing and managing security solutions within Active Directory environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISM,NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • NV1 AGSVA clearance is mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
