Data Engineer/Business Intelligence Specialist

Emanate Technology are currently on the lookout for a Business Intelligence professional to join a globally expanding business. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest technologies in a fast-paced and high-performing environment!

Primary Objectives

• Work with key business stakeholders on how BI could solve or improve their ability to make better data-driven decisions
• Actively contribute to the Group BI/Data Strategy
• Help establish best practices around the BI development process and delivery of services
• Help Design, Develop and Implement scalable BI solutions for the whole business
• Ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard

Responsibilities 

• Development of BI Project work as required, including Data Pipelines, Data Modelling and Data Visualisation projects
• Work with the BI Development Manager to provide solutions to project work and build accurately to project requirements
• Work with the Business and key stakeholders to deploy innovative BI solutions that solve their current and future BI/Data needs
• Ensure development work adheres to the company BI architectural standards
• Ensure production processes, data feeds, ETLs function correctly as required by the business
• Ensure system performance and capacity are managed appropriately
• Understand Data Compliance requirements and ensure BI processes are adhering to these
• Maintain BI documentation as required
• Work with the BI Operations team to ensure an appropriate level of detail is provided for releases and adhere to change control processes
• Appropriate timesheet logging against project work

Experience and Skills

• 5+ years’ experience with T-SQL
• Advanced T-SQL usage across ETLs, customer analytics & reporting
• Strong data modelling, including Data Warehouse modelling
• Data Visualisation (preferably Power BI and/or SSRS)
• Good communication skills
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve complex processes
• Ability to self-learn new tech
• Passionate about new and emerging technologies
• Experience or exposure to cloud-based data environments
• SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI
• Snowflake experience (nice to have)
