Site Reliability Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join a rapidly expanding development and operational resources company with offices internationally, specialising in Open-Source technologies. Named one of the top 500 fastest growing companies of 2020 and 2021, this is an opportunity to join the frontline team keeping a large number of cloud-hosted Apache Kafka clusters up and running, working with the most recent and modern technologies.
 
Working with the Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and solving interesting technical problems, as well as operate and manage Kafka clusters, and provide Kafka as a Managed Service in a highly automated environment.

To be successful in this opportunity, a prior experience in the following would be required:

• Strong experience in Apache Kafka
• Prior experience working with Python or Java
• Strong knowledge and experience with Linux
• Fundamental software engineering skills
• Investigating/researching Kafka issues by reviewing the Apache Kafka codebase or Kafka Jira project is desirable
• An ability to understand and communicate abstract ideas and problems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
