Security Engineer

Emanate Technology have requested by a one of our growing national clients that have an immediate requirement for an experienced Security Engineer to join their team

Key responsibilities:
The Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting Engineering, Analysis, Advisory and Service Delivery tasks within the MS Security Team including:

• Assisting in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defence infrastructure and key resources
• Implementing Risk Management, Assessment and Authorization requirements for dedicated cyber defence systems within the enterprise, and document and maintain records for them
• Analysing organization’s cyber defence policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives
• Making recommendations regarding the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate risk (e.g., protection of information, systems and processes).
• Assisting the Security Lead in the delivery of Managed Services contracts to their clients while maintaining high levels of productivity and professionalism

Specific work capabilities:
Essential

• Tertiary qualification (University or TAFE) in a technical discipline, or 3+ years of demonstrated experience working in IT administration/engineering space in security related roles or projects
• Experience working as part of a helpdesk or Managed Service Provider (MSP) team
• An active NV1 security clearance or eligibility to gain one

Desirable

• Experience responding to security incidents
• Industry security certification (CISSP, SANS, OSCP, etc.)
• Vendor specific certifications (Microsoft, Red Hat, Palo Alto, etc.)
• ITILv4 Foundations
