Position overview:
This senior project manager is responsible for planning, initiating and managing designated IT projects. The position serves as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects: planning project stages, assessing business implications for each stage and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines, standards and cost targets are met. The following sections below are the key focus’s on what must be required to perform this role.

  Responsibilities Project Planning

  • Establish comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with business objectives.
  • Establish comprehensive Project Documentation Suite that merges customer requirements with business objectives.
  • Implement high standard of ITSM delivery in project plans.
  • Attend team and client meetings as required.
  • Develop project reporting design.
  • Initiate, review or approve modifications to project plans.
  • Identify need for supplemental project resources as required.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project personnel.
  • Develop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or ROI.
  • Update project plans for IT projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding and staffing, as required.

Project Delivery

  • Manage the project schedule and deliverables.
  • Manage the project budget.
  • Attend team and client meetings as required.
  • Manage internal and external project communications at all levels.
  • Coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Direct or coordinate activities of project personnel.
  • Engage cross-functional resources to solve problems and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Proactive account management.
  • Optimise time and resources to achieve desired results.
  • Pre-empt and prevent project issues, escalating when required.
  • Ongoing support and guidance to the customer.

   Qualification

  • 8+ years project management experience
  • Experience managing teams of 10 or more
  • Budget management of $1-$5M
  • Cross-functional management in a single business unit
  • Experience managing stakeholders through complex project challenges.
  • Experience managing relationships with contractors and third parties.
  • Experience in project management in large enterprise or government environments.
  • Proven experience across end-to-end project life cycle: Prince 2, Agile, Scrum and Waterfall
  • Experience in ITSM implementation
